Danny D’s Mud Shop, founded by potter Daniel Dooreck, creates handcrafted ceramic pieces infused with warmth, craftsmanship, and soul. Danny’s original website didn’t reflect the quality of his work—so we set out to build a site that matched his artistry.

Understanding the Challenge

Danny D’s Mud Shop had all the raw ingredients for a compelling digital experience—authentic products, a strong brand voice, and a loyal customer base—but the site didn’t communicate it. The original design was minimal and flat, lacking the visual storytelling needed to showcase Danny’s rich portfolio of ceramics. Load times were slow, product navigation felt clunky, and the user experience didn’t reflect the intentional craftsmanship behind each piece.

Our job was to translate the care and quality Danny brings to every ceramic item into a digital space that honored that same level of intentionality. That meant improving design and usability while also telling a cohesive brand story through layout, imagery, and copy. The end goal? Help Danny convert more site visitors into loyal customers and build deeper engagement with his growing community.

Our Approach

We started by auditing the old site to understand its technical and visual limitations. Then we worked closely with Danny to get a sense of his artistic vision and how he wanted people to feel when browsing his ceramics. We focused on designing a visual experience that felt earthy, elevated, and grounded—just like his pieces. This included a reimagined homepage, product pages, and press section that told Danny’s story through a refined layout and full-screen imagery.

Navigation was completely overhauled for simplicity. We created a more logical hierarchy that allowed visitors to easily browse product categories, read about the artist, and view press coverage or events. We also made sure the purchasing experience was streamlined—reducing friction at checkout and building confidence throughout the buyer journey.

We delivered a fully custom Shopify site featuring a minimalist, modern design that lets Danny’s ceramics take center stage.
